Inner Compass

About

A place to look at your own experience, one question at a time.

Inner Compass asks you a short series of questions and then gives you back what you said, arranged. It does not diagnose you, score you, or tell you what you are. Everything it shows you is built out of your own answers.

The shape of the questions follows an old figure, the Sri Yantra, read from the outside in: your circumstances first, then what you want, what you feel, what the mind does with it, and so on inward. It is used here as a map — a way of noticing which layer a difficulty is actually sitting in, because “I am angry at my brother” and “I keep going over what he said” are different problems and need different things.

The practices come from the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, an ancient text of a hundred and twelve short techniques of attention. The instructions here are written fresh against the original sutras; nothing is taken from any particular translation or commentary.

What this is not

It is not therapy, medicine, or a substitute for either. Nothing here is a clinical assessment. If you are in real distress, please talk to someone who can actually sit with you — a doctor, a therapist, or a crisis line where you live.

Nothing you write here leaves your device except to word your own reading. That is set out in full under privacy.
